What's common between 20;21;23;24;27;28 and 2;9;10;11;13;16 and 1;4;7;44;47;48 lottery combinations?

12 November 2009

standard deviation formulaYes, they were all drawn sometime in the past. But this is not the common factor that we're after.

Ok, so the clue is in the picture. From Lottorino point of view, these combinations stand out from other drawn lotto combinations in that they all have the biggest out-of-sync standard deviations. If you look closely, you will see that the first two combinations have numbers too close to each other, or put differently the deviation or spread of its numbers from average is very small. 1;4;7;44;47;48 combination has a big gap in the middle boosting its standard deviation high. These are the only combinations in the entire UK National Lottery history that scored a 3‰ Lottorino exclusively on the basis of their abnormal standard deviations. There were other combinations in the past that got downgraded because of their not-so-standard deviations, but the above 3 are the most extreme cases so far.

As you know, if you choose a combination that scores less than 50‰, we recommend that you reselect it. Ok, so each combination has the same chances of being drawn, as any mathematician will tell you. What we're saying is that let's take a bet on a combination with low Lottorino (maybe because of its weird standard deviation) of NOT coming up in the next draw. After all, there were only 3 instances in the past where a combination got 3‰ Lottorino on the standard deviation rule. Can a similar combination be drawn - yes. But will it? How about a bet for next draw that it will not! And even if it will, big deal, the rule will work in our favour for the next 400+ draws after that!

You can see Lottorino of all previously drawn lottery combinations here - past Lottorino results. We would have been wrong on few occasions, when a combination breaking Lottorino rules was nonetherless drawn, but look how many times we would have been sieving out bad combinations correctly (all these draws above the advised low limit line)!!! And by the way, there are in total 29,644 combinations with similar or even worse standard deviations as those in the above combinations. In other words, we're eliminating almost 30k combinations just on this one filter! Better odds? For sure!

Standard deviation is just one of the filters within Lottorino. We will cover more soon.
