We theoretically played 22 combinations by using 12-number lottery wheel for Wednesday 4th of November lottery draw. Out of 12 numbers selected, we got 2 winnings numbers right, so as you know, no prizes there! 9 combinations had both numbers in, so if we trapped a third winning number, there probably would have been some winnings.
Let's look at statistical odds now so that we can have some point of reference to how badly or well we did with our wheeling.
The lottery odds for this particular wheel are as follows:
This is how you read these numbers. When you pick 12 numbers from a set of 49, the chance that exactly 2 of the 6 winning numbers will be amongst the numbers you selected is 31.17%. So, the most likely scenario is that you guess 1 number right in your 12 number selection, followed by 2 numbers which is where our result sits. So not the worst result, but no prizes either!
Notice how having 0,1,2 numbers in your selection account for 85%! In other words, winning a prize is about 15%, of which winning the jackpot is 0.01%!
Next time let's wheel more numbers and see what results we can get then.
