Euro rollover, while lotto numbers stay low

8 February 2010

£113 million jackpotIn the previous post, we wondered whether we should play Euromillions using Lucky Dip. In the end we played 2 combinations, one we chose ourselves and one via Lucky Dip. And guess what - no wins on our combination and £8 win on Lucky Dip. Like us, nobody matched all the numbers, and the jackpot of £87.5 million now rolls over to this coming Friday, 12th of February. The estimated jackpot is now a cool £113 million, which if won by a UK player would be the highest ever win in the UK.

Lotto, on the other hand, keeps on drawing combinations with numbers below 30. In the last 8 draws (that's a whole month!), there were only 3 numbers higher than 30! The rest 45 numbers all sit tight together on the left hand side of our skip board - see here. See how empty it is on the right? It is thought that many people choose their lucky combination based on their birthdays, anniversaries etc. and these last 8 draws have indeed backed this up. There were quite a lot of winners throughout all prize tiers, making prize payouts one of the lowest in the UK National Lottery entire history. Let's hope this trend finishes now and good payouts return, as being a syndicate we do hope to win when noone else does!

Good luck if you take part in Euromillions this Friday, and good luck to our next syndicate Novalis.
