Here are the rules you must adhere to in order to improve your chances of a big win.
Rule #1 is the most important rule: the only way to guarantee winning the jackpot is by playing all possible combinations
The more combinations you play, the better the odds become. If you play 13,983,816 combinations, you are guaranteed to win the Lotto jackpot. You may think that this may be a good strategy to follow if there is a huge jackpot rollover (i.e. the jackpot must be more than £13,983,816 in order for you to win anything). What you must remember is that there could be other people winning the jackpot, hence you may actually loose a lot of money. If, for example, the jackpot is £30,000,000, and there are 3 winners (one of them is you), you would loose £3,983,816!!!
Rule #2 is just as important: the odds improve the more combinations you cover for any one draw
The odds do improve even if you don’t cover all the combinations. For instance, if you play 14,000 combinations, you have 1 in 1,000 chances of winning the Lotto jackpot! Much better, isn’t it? The only downside is that you still have to spend quite a lot of money, i.e. £14,000 on a draw! And remember, there is no guarantee that you will win the jackpot as you are not covering all possible combinations, so you may end up loosing all the money you spent.
This is where Catchalotto can help. By joining a syndicate you become part of many lottery tickets even if you play only one combination yourself, thereby your chances of winning the jackpot increase whilst your costs do not! If your syndicate does not hit the jackpot, it may win numerous other prizes which can still add up to a nice amount!
Rule #3: playing the lottery in an organised manner helps improve the odds further
When you join any Catchalotto syndicates, the combination you choose will be verified to ensure it has not already been played within your chosen syndicate. By removing duplications and therefore covering more combinations, a syndicate has better chances of a big win. Why bet on the same horse twice!
Rule #4: removing less efficient combinations (i.e. combinations with low Lottorino scores) helps improve the odds further
By analysing past lottery trends there are certain rules that can be set that may help us eliminate or filter-out a few combinations from the list. So from 13,983,816 of all possible combinations, we may be able to eliminate a few thousand or even millions of combinations simply because such combinations stand little chances of coming up. What we do here is we play with probability rules and not against them.
A point of distinction must be made here regarding two very similar yet different concepts: possibility versus probability. It’s possible for any combination, whether efficient or not, to be drawn at any future lottery draw. However, less efficient combinations are less probable to come up and based on that, one should not bet on such combinations. Why bet on the horse that is more likely to lose? It’s possible that this horse may win, say because all other horses come out of the race due to some incident (they are all abducted by aliens whilst running!), but what is the probability of that incident happening and our house winning? Pretty low. Similarly, why play a combination that is possible to be drawn though highly unlikely?
It is possible that a certain combination which was assigned a low Lottorino score and thereby was declared as less efficient subsequently turned out to be a winning combination. It’s possible for less efficient combinations to come up. In the long term however, filtering out less efficient combinations should prove to be more rewarding.
Here are some examples of the filtering rules that we use. The list is by no means exhaustive. In fact, each time you play with Catchalotto, your combination is verified against hundreds of filtering rules! Such verification is done via our proprietary Lottorino Scoring Engine.
Never play 6 consecutive numbers as such combinations do not happen! For example, a combination 1-2-3-4-5-6 is considered to be less probable as 6 consecutive numbers have never been drawn since the inception of the UK National Lottery (nor in any other lotteries worldwide!)
Never play a combination that has already been drawn in the past! The same combination has never come up again in the UK National Lottery!
Never play 6 numbers that are either all odd or all even. This happens very rarely!
Never play 5 or more numbers that are all divisible by the same number, for instance 7-14-21-28-35-42, all numbers here are divisible by 7 and believe it or not this is a very popular combination that is played by many people. Such combinations are not random and probability rules would declare them as being less probable to be drawn.
Always mix your numbers so you have high or low numbers in your combination, e.g. a combination 38-40-42-47-48-49 is considered to be less efficient.
Never include more than 4 numbers that are ending on the same digit, e.g. 2-12-22-32-42. Again not a very random combination. In fact, most winning draws have only a very few final digits that match.
Rule #5: wheeling systems can provide balanced coverage of the numbers chosen and can guarantee certain winnings if the numbers you wheeled contain the winning numbers
In its simplest form, wheeling is when you take some numbers that you think are strong candidates for the next draw, and you mix those numbers in such a way as to get the best possible coverage and combinations.
There are full and abbreviated types of wheels available.
Full wheels cover every single combination that is possible from your chosen numbers, thereby if all 6 winning numbers are amongst the set of numbers used for wheeling, you are guaranteed to win the jackpot. The disadvantage of the full wheels is that you have to play quite a lot of combinations. For instance, if you want to wheel 15 numbers, you would have to play 5,005 combinations as this is how many combinations can be made from 15 numbers! If you want to wheel 25 numbers, you would need to spend £177,100! If you want to wheel 30 numbers, you would need to buy 593,775 lottery tickets! The more numbers you wheel, the better your chances are of a big win, and the more you have to spend to obtain those better chances.
Abbreviated types of wheels exclude some of the combinations that full wheels generate. So wheeling 15 numbers in an abbreviated system, may give you 70 or 1000 or 2500 etc. combinations depending on the wheel you use. You are not guaranteed to win the jackpot even if all 6 winning numbers are in the list of your wheeled numbers. To sum up, abbreviated wheels are cheaper but you loose the guarantee of winning big.
The wheels will only generate winning combinations for you IF and only IF the numbers wheeled contain 3 or more of the winning numbers. Otherwise, you win nothing.
Don’t worry if you don’t understand the concept of wheeling fully. All you have to know is that you can join - what we call - an Intuitive syndicate. Such syndicates are pre-populated with combinations that we chose based on our lottery analysis and wheeling strategies. These combinations have passed the filtering rules as set by Lottorino Scoring Engine. So all the work is done for you, all you have to do is join such syndicate. Don’t leave it till last minute, as these types of syndicates usually have a maximum limit, e.g. it may be that as a result of wheeling, we only complied 50 combinations, and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis!
Rule #6: responsible gaming
As exciting as playing with Catchalotto can be, lottery game is still considered to be in the realm of gambling. By following the above rules, the chances of winning the lottery prizes, including the jackpot, improve. Namely, due to elimination of less efficient combinations we now have a smaller list of combinations to choose from and as a result of joining a syndicate, we can play many more combinations for each draw! What are the chances of a big win? Well, we can’t tell exactly because it depends on how many combinations are played within your chosen syndicate, but we can tell you this – the chances are far greater.
